Former Gov. George Sinner

BISMARCK – Gov. Doug Burgum has directed all state agencies to fly U.S. and North Dakota flags at half-staff later this week in memory of former North Dakota Gov. George Sinner, who died Friday, March 9, at the age of 89.

Burgum on Monday, March 12, announced that flags are to be flown at half-staff on Friday, March 16, as a sign of respect for Sinner, who served as governor from 1985 to 1992.

In addition to applying to state agencies, Burgum encouraged people and businesses to also fly flags at half-staff from sunrise to sunset Friday as a mark of respect.
