PIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota House of Representatives deferred action on Gov. Kristi Noem’s riot boosting legislation. House Bill 1117 is a modified revision of riot boosting laws passed during last year’s legislative session.

HB 1117 repeals and revises certain provisions regarding riot, establishes the crime of incitement to riot and revises provisions regarding civil liability for riot and riot boosting.

The bill will be on the House agenda on Tuesday, Feb. 18, when the session session resumes.
