March Mania

Winter hits hard after a mild December

Just as the snow and ice was finally cleared from last week's blizzard, Wadena is slammed again with more snow, freezing temperatures, and wind.

A winter weather advisory has been issued and will remain in effect until noon. People are being warned about blizzard conditions and windchill as temps could drop to 40 below zero tonight, according to the National Weather Service. Travel is discouraged.

Over the last several hours, another 3 to 5 inches of snow has fallen. This combined with high winds makes for a cold New Years Eve. Wadena has received approximately 16 inches of snow in the last few days.

Temperatures will remain low into New Years Day.

On New Years Day temperatures will not get above zero. Temperatures will slowly rise as the weekend approaches with less snow and clearer conditions.
