Medford, Wis. elk hunter Lydia Pernsteiner was lucky to draw an elk tag and then bag a big bull elk during Wisconsin's second-annual elk hunt in October. It was one of 10 elk harvested in the Clam Lake area this fall, about 80 miles southeast of Superior. A similar plan to reintroduce elk in eastern Minnesota as been studied, but St. Louis County commissioners appear poised to oppose the elk effort.  Contributed photo.
